How to become President

How to become President

get what you can
by any means
you can

if at first
you don’t succeed

throw a tantrum
until they yield

to your demand

Restless - Illustrated Poem

Although I published the text only version of this poem earlier in the year, I am now posting this illustrated version as the poem seems to reflect my most recent post on 'The Word of Sinna Luvva' -

A CRY of SELF-PITY – an ATTEMPT to EXORCISE the PAIN

RESTLESS

RESTLESS

shattered but even so
muscle mind and bloated
intestines resist

the urge to sleep
each yawn stifled
by fear

of what new ailment
will inhabit this aching
hulk of flesh skin and bones

should my defences fail
discomfort is all
both yielding and resisting

sup far too deeply
on a scarce reserve
of stamina

Awe Struck

AWE STRUCK

and late at night
I trudge through well-worn paths
alone beneath the vastness
of the skies

awe struck
I stop and stare -
no other footfall echoes
in this vast auditorium

I spot
a glow worm light
wonder if it too may be
as distant

as the firmament
of stars
always remaining
just out of reach

BRIGHT

BRIGHT

blue sky

wisp streaked

with silver grey

the air is crisp -

the frost dressed lawn

crackles

beneath my feet

EMERGING

EMERGING

and this morning
still abed
my legs
are mercury laden
knitted lead

the arms
folded or stretched
scream out
for postures new

Twitter Poem

These few words were my first tweet of the last couple of days - scribbled down whilst observing the garden, feeling a bit sorry for myself - the poem as yet untitled

I see the lavender
transformed
into a fluttering

of butterfly wings.
Large whites
re-emphasize

the colour
of their perching
bloom.
